Some growth features of nase (Chondrostoma meandrense Elvira, 1987) in Adıgüzel reservoir
Abstract :
This study was conducted between January to September 2007 and some growth properties were examined of an endemic freshwater fish Chondrostoma meandrense occurring in the Büyük Menderes basin. The 303 specimens were captured monthly with the Trammel nets having different mesh sizes. The sex ratio of nase population, distributed between I–III ages was determined as 58% for females and 42% for males. The specimens’ fork length and weight ranged from 13.3 to 21.4 cm and from 34.6 to 173.7 g, respectively. The length–weight relationship estimated was as W = 0.0069*L3.2794 (R2 = 0.9404) for all individuals. The condition factor of population varied from 1:45 to 1:57.
