Abstract :
In this study; the concentrations of nickel, manganese, cobalt, iron and, aluminum (Ni, Mn, Co, Fe, and Al) were determined seasonally in soft tissues and hepatopancreas of mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) and clam (Tapes decussatus) from the Homa Lagoon (May 2013-February 2014). According to interspecies comparison, metal concentrations were found higher in soft tissues of clams. The highest levels of metal were detected in hepatopancreas at both species. Also, the highest metal concentrations were found in February for mussel and July for clam. Detected metal levels in the bivalve species were compared with provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) values and the maximum metal concentrations (except Al in clams) were found below these values.
