Abstract :
Hip joint dislocations constitute about 5% of all the joint dislocations. Most commonly, posterior dislocation of the hip joint is seen. Anterior dislocations of the hip joint are rare. In this report, anterior obturator dislocation of the hip joint after a motor vehicle accident is presented which was treated by closed reduction under sedation in the emergency service. Avascular capital femoral necrosis was not detected radiographically at the end of a 2-year follow-up. Physical examination of the hip joint movements were normal and the Harris hip score was excellent
