Abstract :
Myiasis is defined as parasitic infestation in tissue or organs as a result of diptherous larvae fed with host mucosa, dead tissue or body fluids. In our country, such cases are seen rarely. In this case, open wound myiasis in a patient operated for diverticulitis was discussed. Nosocomial myiasis is a rare clinical condition that occurs in hospitalized patients. Improvement of predisposing factors such as access of intensive care units with external environment, personal hygiene, insulation of operating theatres, wound care will reduce the incidence of the disease.
