Predicting of Psychological Well-Being in Married Individuals
Abstract :
This study was conducted in order to determine the predictive power of relationships with family of origin, self-esteem and marital satisfaction in psychological well-being of married individuals. The sample of the research contained 386 married people who were located in İzmir. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to determine predictive power of relationships with family of origin, self-esteem and marital satisfaction in psychological well-being of married individuals. Considering the findings of the study, it was found that self-esteem and marital satisfaction were significant predictors of psychological well-being in married individuals, but relationships with family of origin did not predict psychological well-being in married individuals. These findings were discussed in comparison with the findings of previous research in the literature.
