Abstract :
The objective of this research is to study the effect of the Mother Values Education Program provided to mothers of pre-school children of the ages of 5-6 on the children values of responsibility, respect, honesty, cooperation, sharing and friend ship.The study group of the research consists of mothers with children having pre-school education and 24 mothers (12 test, 12 control ) and their children in the age group of 5-6. 21 sessions of Mother Values Education Program was applied to the mothers of the children in the test group.Pre-school Values Scale Family, Teacher and Student Form, the semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers and Family Information Form developed by the researchers were used as data collection means in the research. The quantitative data obtained from the research was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 package program. Qualitative data obtained from the research was analyzied in the NVIVO program. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of data.As a result of the analysis of quantitative data, it was found that the score averages of values of responsibility, respect, honesty, cooperation, sharing and friendship of the test group children were significantly higher than the score averages of the control group children. Also a significant difference was found between the pre-test and final test points of the children in the test group. No significant difference was found between the post test and heritability measurement score averages after the measurements in the test group 6 weeks after the completion of the education program. According to the findings obtained from the qualitative data of research, mothers stated that the program had positive effect on themselves, their husbands, the children included in the program and their siblings.
