Abstract :
In this study the relationship between the social entrepreneurship characteristics of pre-service teachers and their attitudes toward school management has been investigated, and how well the level of possessed social entrepreneurial characteristics predicts the attitude toward the school management has been tested. 502 pre-service teachers from Hacettepe University Education Faculty, studying during 2013-14 academic years were participated in the study. “Pre-service Teachers’ Social Entrepreneurship Qualifications Scale” and “School Management Attitude Scale” were used as data collection tools. Data were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Pearson correlation and multiple regression techniques in addition to descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation and percentiles. Analysis results showed that pre-service teacher’ scores toward school management are moderate whereas their social entrepreneurship qualifications are quite high. A moderately significant positive relationship has been observed between “risk takings” and “self-confidence” dimensions of social entrepreneurship and attitudes toward school management, whereas a weakly significant positive relationship has been identified between “personal creativity” and attitude toward school management. In addition, it has been found that social entrepreneurial characteristics of pre-service teachers were a significant predictor of their attitudes toward school management.
