Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to determine the overall effect of instruction based on multiple intelligence theory in mathematics course on academic achievement. The Meta-Analysis method enabled to combine the results of a group study in a particular subject is used to accomplish this goal. Some criterias have been determined in the selection of studies to be included in the survey and 13 thesis made in Turkey in accordance with these criterias constituted the sample of this study. Process effectiveness method of meta-analysis is used in the analysis of data and Hedges’s g is used in the calculation of effect size of the research. The chi-square heterogeneity test (Q-statistics) known the most common approach used in the research to evaluate whether the real heterogeneity among the studies included in this research. In order to increase the validity of the research, the similarities in the studies included in the scope of the research have been identified in detail. In order to increase the reliability of the research, studies included in this research have shown a symmetrical distribution in the funnel chart and the number of error protection is calculated 427 study according to Rosenthal’s method. At the end of the research, instruction based on multiple intelligence theory based in mathematics course has an overall, positive and moderate effect on the academic achievement (Q = 18.960; p = 0.000). Also, the effect size distribution of the studies included in the scope of the research is heterogeneous.
