Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of computer assisted instruction material on prospective science teachers’ learning of the renewable energy and sources. In this research study quasi-experimental method including pre-post test design with comparison experimental -control group, was used. The sample of the study is composed of total 52 3th grade prospective science teachers, experimental group (N= 31) and control group (N=21), who studying science teacher training program in Faculty of Education at the Giresun University. As data collecting tool a questionary form composed of open-ended questions was used. Obtained qualitative data in the study, were analyzed via content analysis. Scoring created codes in the content analysis qualitative data were quantified. Quantitative data were analaysed with SPSS 16.00 package program. When the experimental group’s pre and post test scores were compared, it was determined that there was a significant difference in favour of post test of the experimental group. This situation can be interpreted that computer assisted instruction material was applyed in the experimental group is effect. However, both experimental and control groups’ between pre and post score were found that there are a significant difference statistically in favour of post test scores on hydraulic energy issue. This situation was associated to prospective science teachers may be heard of hydraulic energy concept in the first time.
