Abstract :
Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network, known as “DMVPN” is a solution that allows the quick deployment of secure connections between many sites in an automatic and dynamic manner, to insure the high availability of this network, several architectures can be deployed as: the increase of number of sites, number of Clouds or simultaneously both of them. This paper studies the impact of high availability on DMVPN network performances, and fault tolerance of each architecture, using various dynamic routing protocols, taking into account their good recommended configurations for such network. The evaluation criteria are, duration of initial convergence, duration of convergence in case of failure and recovery of the interface or the main equipment and consumed CPU cycle. Obtained results show that the Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol “EIGRP” protocols benefits from the increase in the number of HUBs, but not from the number of clouds, contrariwise the OSPF shows its efficiency during the increase of clouds number. Concerning the multi-clouds and multi-HUBs architectures, OSPF is not recommended while EIGRP gives best delays.
