Abstract :
Dialect is a linguistic term describing the verbal expression of a language which is specific to certain communities in a given region. The origin of the dialect research in Turkey goes back to the 19th century and we have an idea about different dialects and accents of the period (11th century) as recorded in the Divanu Lugati t Turk. Turkologists such as Radloff and Kunos have made various studies in this field. However, studies on the dialect have begun intensively after the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey. Of course, in the consistence of these, the language simplification movement had a great effect. As a result of the compilation in the certain areas of the country, research on dialects has been differentiated and these works have been a field of study which involved retrospective analysis. With the words and phrases collected, we have detected the effects of other languages and dialects, sound and meaning changes over the time, archaic items which used in the past but not in the standard language at the time of the study. In this research study, some local words are gathered which are collected from Mulk and Gokgeyamac villages of Erzurum. Our aim is to contribute to the Compilation Dictionary by detecting some words which are not yet in that dictionary. The compiled words are divided into species like nouns, adjectives, verbs, phrases, and dilemmas in terms of their functionality and structures.
