Abstract :
In this survey of the physical development, nutrition patterns, hygiene and self-care opportunities, potential risks, play and the toys of the children of migrant agricultural workers in Turkey, the data employed was obtained through observation and semi-structured interviews. In this context, the study attempted to analyze in depth the impact of poverty related malnutrition and the unfavourable environmental conditions associated with migration upon the development of children. Firstly, observations on the camp sites of migrant workers, their overall life situations, the major patterns of life in tents and the difficulties faced are briefly given. Secondly, this paper records the results obtained from observations and interviews in respect to the physical development status, the patterns of nutrition, hygiene and self-care, the potential risks, health conditions, play and the toys of these children.
