A Study of the Practice of Social Responsibility undertaken by International Hotels in Turkey

The roles and responsibilities of companies have begun to be differentiated. Today, the practice of social responsibility is stated within the objectives of enterprises, as businesses have social as well as economic objectives. In consequence of this differentiation an examination of the importance given to the practice of social responsibility by international hotels in the tourism sector was undertaken. In this context, this aim of this study was to analyse the practice of social responsibility at international hotels in Turkey and the results of this research show that the main practices of social responsibility undertaken by these international hotels concern: the environment, health, education, disaster poverty, together with some local issues. The results also show that culture, from this research, has the smallest place amongst the practices of social responsibility undertaken by international hotels in Turkey.
