Abstract :

Aim: This research has been done as descriptive-relation searcher in the 2008-2009 academic years to determine the effects of training on the health behavior by showing the healthy life style behavior changes of the students attending to the first and the fourth year classes at the nursing schools in Istanbul. Method: The 708 students who are attending to the first and the fourth year classes at the nursing college formed the universe of this research, 506 students who admitted to take part in this research formed the sampling. Research data were collected by using Data Collection Form and Healthy Lifestyles and Behavior Scale. Indýcation: 20.93 ± 1.84 is the average age of students, 90.5 % of the students are girls and 40 % of the students have been living in the metropolis in a large portion of their life, more than half (51.3%) are fourth- class students. 83.4% of the students have perceived their health well. Total score taken from HLSB scale was determined as 124.11±22.21. Logistic regression analysis results shown that, age, working status of a job, friend relationships, and health perception affects the healthy lifestyle behaviors. Result: It is determined that training at the nursing colleges affects the Healthy Life Style Behavior of the students. In the direction of the results of this research, the development of educational programs in nursing college has been proposed to be continued.
