Evaluating of The levels of Malondialdehyde (MDA) and Reduced Glutathione (GSH) on Blood Donors
Abstract :
Purpose of this study to determine blood malondialdehyde (MDA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels pre-and post-donation of whole blood donors. In the study, whole blood donor, blood from 20 individuals were spectrophotometric analysis. End of the study, before blood donation were mean MDA 24.91 ± 4.37 µmol /g Hb and GSH levels 23.85 ± 6.23 µmol /g Hb. End of the study, after blood donation were mean MDA 25.08 ± 4.66 µmol /g Hb and GSH levels 23.58 ± 5.78 µmol/g Hb. There was statistically no significant difference between before and after donation (p 0.05). These results indicate that, whole blood donation not affect MDA and GSH.
