Abstract :
Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyse the midterm results of patients diagnosed with coxarthrosis who had also undergo surgery for total hip artroplasty. Material and Method: Uncemented total hip arthroplasty was performed on 34 hips of 30 patients diagnosed with coxarthrosis and treated with uncemented total hip prosthesis in orthopaedics and traumatology clinic between 2005-2008. Of these 30 patients, 20 were female and 10 were male and the average age was 59.4; youngest being 32 and oldest 79. Average follow- up period was 37.5 months. 12 cases were operated on right hip and 14 cases were operated on left hip; 4 patients had operation of both of the hips. Results: All of the patients are evaluated with Harris Hip Score. Average preoperative Harris score of the patients was 39.2 and average postoperative score was 94.06. According to these findings, results were perfect in 24 patients, good in 5 patients and moderate in 1 patient. Conclusion: Compared to the findings in literature, our mid-term clinical and radiological results were determined as successful.
