Cytokine levels in brucellosis

In this study, we aimed that complicated, non-complicated cases of brucellosis have follow-up was to be used in a parameter-like cytokine. Twenty-two complications, 18 patients with uncomplicated brucellosis and age, occupation, gender-matched 40 healthy adults enrolled in the study. The study of cases of brucellosis on the day before the treatment and control group sera sera of IL-2, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, IFN-γ levels were determined by ELISA method, comparisons between groups Mann-Whitney U and Student s t test was used. IFN-γ levels in the patient group was higher and statistically significant (p = 0.011). TNF-α levels in the group with complications compared with the uncomplicated group was higher and statistically significant (P=0.013). Based on the results of our study, we found TNF-α levels in patients with complicated brucellosis believe should be taken into account. To find high levels of IFN-γ in patient group similarly literature data suggested that Th1-type celluler immun response is foreground for brucellosis.
