Extracorporeal shock wave therapy
Abstract :
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a therapy method which is applied acoustic pressure to the body. Shock wave was first used in urology for renal stones in 1980s. Research has been started in orthopedics in 1990s. Today it has been used for most of the diagnosis in different clinics. In this review it has summarized that the action mechanism, indications, contraindications, complications and current studies in the literature about extracorporeal shock wave therapy.
