Abstract :
Acute colonic pseudo-obstruction (Ogilvie s syndrome), is a syndrome characterized with severe dilatation of the colon without a mechanical obstruction. Is an important cause of morbidity and mortality. Ischemia and perforation are feared complications. Although there are much information about the syndrome, clinical diagnosis is difficult and often delayed. In the majority of patients, there are predisposing factors such as ; trauma, infection, heart diseases, neurological diseases and previous surgery. In this article we aimed to present a patient with Parkinson s disease who developed sigmoid colon ischemia caused by Ogilvie s syndrome.
