Experimental Examining of Red Pepper Drying in a Dryer Assisted Solar Energy and Heat Pump
Abstract :
In this study, drying of redpeppers were examined experimentally in a dryer assisted solar energy and heat pump. Redpeppers have been dried from initial moisture content (0.914 g water/g wet matter) to final moisture content (0.11 g water/g wet matter) in the drying system. In PID (proportional, integral, derivation) controlled dryer, solar collector was used as a preheater. According to experiment results, average heating coefficient performance (COPwh) and specific moisture extraction rate (SMERws) were calculated for whole system as 2.1 and 0.18 kg/kWh respectively.
