Abstract :
Because of increasing of environmental problems and possibility of depletion of fuels day by day, people are trying to find alternative energy sources. Fuel cells with the characteristics of high efficiency up to %70, functioning in silence, being modular etc. have evolved with spreading use. This study shows the parameters effects on performance of PEM fuel cells which is the most suitable kind for being used in vehicles among fuel cells. Before starting parametric studies two packets of aluminium and stainless steel material SS 316 fuel cells were designed with the use of nafion 115 membranes. After these processes a prototype was developed with the aim of production of fuel cells and implementing parametric studies. After the whole process mentioned above parameters like temperature, pressure and moisture which have effect on performance of fuel cell were studied. In these experimental studies, for aluminum fuel cell the maximum 2,98 Volt potential level; for stainless steel fuel battery the maximum 3,12 Volt potential level were reached. As a result of these experimental studies the parameters like temperature, pressure and moisture increased performance of fuel cell fairly.
