Abstract
In this study, the database and user interfaces were designed for application of the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to the automotive spare parts sector in our country as a part of the Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce) which is becoming worldwide due to todays rapid developments in the information and communication technologies. Moreover an user interfaces were designed to create the order, confirmation and invoice forms in ANSI X12 EDI standards. In addition to, the interfaces which the database manager and the producers used to enter the data in the database were created. The developed program was integrated with ETA and NETSIS which are present commercial packet programs. As a result of this study, through the developed interface and database, since the part pictures and numbers can be seen instantly by the customer, the mistakes in definition of the part are disappeared and the manufacturer firms can save data of their own catalogue in the database as a correct and up to date.
