Abstract :
Determination of costs for production systems and accordingly in terms of improving efficiency, effors of shortening and foretold of processing times are important for processing systems in production. Work study is an approach required a little cost or no cost increasing efficacy of process methods. Labor is significantly used in our country and its qualification is considered among the major issues of furniture manufacturing systems. Effective usage of labor for furniture manufacturing systems is important. In this study, work study practice was conducted for two separate cutting plans of wooden panels sized 2800mm x 2100mm x 16mm in sizing machine in a furniture factory. In research, time study of measurement of work techniques was directly applied. Time study was applied for existing cutting plan applied by factory and a second cutting plan questioning existing one in the scope of work study. Capacity of wooden cutting machine belonging to cutting plans was determined taking advantage of standard times acquired with measurements either. In measurements, whether datas are suited for normal distribution or not is tested by SPSS/One Sample Kolmogorov-Simirnov in 95% accuracy ratio. In study, panel cutting lengths was respectively obtained 20,676 m and 20,105 m for first and second cutting plan in each work cycle. on top of is acquired for each panels in first cutting plan and in second apllied by method changes. Standart time of work cycle is determined as 562,41sec for first cutting plan and 453,91sec for second cutting plan. In that processing times, it is found that second cutting plan in accordance with first cutting plan was found a decrease of 19,29% and daily panel capacity was found an increase of 55,7%, from 228 pcs/day to 335 pcs/day.
