Investgation of the Tyre Waste from Automobiles in Turkey
Abstract :
With the increasing number of automobile, exhaust emissions and solid waste that created by the vehicles are increasing rapidly. In this study, solid rubber waste from automobiles on roads were investigated. Tire tread depth was measured with a digital caliper on 1065 automobile in Ankara and tire change kilometers was taken from the drivers. While the measurement process the three widely using tire was considered as a referance tire and their mass of waste tire was calculated. Amount of tire waste was determined that discarded the environment in Turkey seven geographical regions by the Turkish Statistical Institute’s datas of automobile numbers. It was determined that a tire was discarded 1,479 kg tire waste in solid form throughout the life. Looking at the distribution by province, it is determined that the most tire waste has been occured in İstanbul in proportion to the number of automobile.
