Estimating Turkey s IPv6 Transition Cost
Abstract :
Transition process from IPv4 to IPv6 protocol is becoming a very popular study area which recently many developed countries are deeply considered researching on. It is crucial to decide a transition method which provides the most secure platform and minimizes the transition cost. In this study, current IT infrastructure, software, hardware and trained personal that is ready for IPv6 transition process of Turkey is reviewed based on a series of questionnaires. Many public institutes and universities participated to the questionnaires. By analyzing the questionnaires, readiness of Turkey s IT resources to IPv6 protocol have been evaluated and the estimated total cost of IPv6 transition is determined to be 1023289417.51 TL.
