Abstract :
The increasing of heat transfer in the heat exchangers means that energy saving, efficient and effective use of energy. Paying attention to ever increasing energy demand and decrease in energy sources, it is better to understand to increase the heat transfer in the heat exchangers where the energy is used commonly.In this study, a concentric tube heat exchanger has been designed and an experimental system has been set up. Hot air flows in the internal pipe of the concentric tube heat exchanger and water flows in the external pipe of the concentric tube heat exchanger in the counter-current flow. Heat exchangers made of copper pipes. External surface of the external pipe has been insolated in order to minimize the heat loss. The hot air obtained from heater at constant temperature has been moved to internal pipe of heat exchanger by means of fan. By increasing the flow turbulence with turbulators improvement in the heat transfer has been observed by graphics obtained by experiments.It has been seen that there is agreement between the results obtained by experiments and the results reported in the literature.
