Abstract :
Ensuring driving safety and comfort in vehicles depends on the front axle geometry and suspension system which work in har-mony. The main task of the vehicle suspension is to provide a good ride and handling performance, to ensure steering control du-ring return and to respond well to the vehicle’s controlled force. The suspension system must also ensure to isolate of high-frequency vibrations from the road wheels. In this study; vehicle movement dynamics, structural characteristics and arrangement of the front suspension geometry designed by considering the safety and comfort were investigated. Effects of the suspension system on vehicle movements were researc-hed. Different mechanisms have been examined and it was determined that what are the advantages and disadvantages comparing each other. As a result of this study it has put forward the necessary characteristics for an ideal front axle geometry and suspan-sion system.
