Title Of Article :
Biopolymers and its Montmorillonit Clay Nanocomposites
Abstract :
Some properties of biopolymers those are not available for thermoset and thermoplastic polymers such as biodegradability, environment-friendliness and decreased amount of waste has provided increased interest to them. Bionanocomposites are preferred to petrochemical based nanocomposites because of their lower costs, higher production speeds, and superior mechanical, gas barrier and thermal properties. Increased world population has led to increased amount of plastic wastes and CO2 concentration in the atmosphere, which has forced scientists and manufacturers to search for alternative biodegradable resources. In this study the synthesis, characterization and use of bionanocomposites obtained from chitosan, cellulose, starch, polylactic acid and alginate biomaterials and montmorillonite (MMT) clay were investigated and the studies made up to now are examined.
