Developing Ontology-Based Mobile Fever Monitoring and Consultation System for Pediatric Patients
Abstract :
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) are the most common disease group in childhood. In this article, Ontology based Mobile Pediatric Consultation and Monitoring System (mPCMS) is suggested. The first objective of the system is to allow remote consultation. In other words, system provides to gather instant medical data from child patients by using certain add-on mobile medical apparatuses and then share them with its registered doctor at home. The second aim is to help parents in the healthcare steps at home. System suggests certain appropriate medical steps according to the instant medical conditions of the child patient to be applied at home. To do this, the system has its own ontology knowledge base that includes artificial intelligence based medical inferencing rules. The rule base of system’s inferencing mechanism are prepared by pediatricians the course of pediatrics that are indicated about 61 different Durum (Case). Each case are determined with various Medical Suggestions to advise appropriate medical steps for keeping the fever under control at the moment by parents at home. Finally, such a mobile pediatric consultation and monitoring system can be extensively used in dormitory, nursery, and hospital or school environment.
