Title Of Article :
Assesment of Liquefaction Potential of Düzce (Gölyaka) Soils Using SPT and Shear Wave Velocity Under The Effect of Prospective Eartquake
Abstract :
Duzce city is on the most active and seismic area of Turkey and World as alocation. Arap plate triggers the area seismically diving under the Anatolian plate in the form of moving in the direction of anticlockwise. Soil liquefaction has been an attractive research topic in Turkiye after 1992 Erzincan Earthquake where liquefaction occured. A lot of widespread liquefaction phenomen and liquefaction induced damages were observed in the soils Duzce and more over in Adapazarı soils after 1999 earthquake. A total of 443m drilling was carried out where SPT and Seismic shear waves were performed at 35 points in stusy area in Gölyaka district. It is tried to intersect the points where the SPT and Vs were performed on the same points so that the results should be compatibility. The liquefaction analysis was done taking into account the moment magnitude Mw=6.98 and maximum horizontal acceleration amax=0.53 in the case of the Duzce fault crack at the rate of ½ lenght. At the end of the analysis the liquefaction map was prepared according to the results of the liquefaction severity indexes obtained in this study. In the end, it iwas revealed that the liquefaction was observed about %80 in the wide area of Gölyaka district.
