  • Abstract
One of the main missions of Children’s and Youth Literature is to help young reader to gain reading habit and to introduce the reader with works of high literary and aesthetical value. The wise satirist Muzaffer Izgu, who declares that the only way to have adult readers is to have child readers, stresses the importance of reading habit at early ages. Through the realist point of view which he uses while narrating scenes from Turkish society, Izgu skillfully adds humor to psychological deviancies. His skill brings him to a distinctive place among other writers of Turkish Children’s and Youth Literature. In this study, Muzaffer Izgu’s works will be reevaluated through the papers presented in Muzaffer Izgu Symposium, held by Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Comparative Literature in 19-21 October 2005.
