Abstract :
This descriptive study aims to determine the relationship between domestic violence exposure status and socio-demographic characteristics of 464 women who applied to a family health center in Eskisehir. Data was collected by a questionnaire consisting of questions on some socio-demographic characteristics of women and husbands of married women, violence and types of violence. Of women participated in the study, 43.1% were exposed to domestic violence. Of women with primary and lower education status, 55.6% were exposed to domestic violence. Employers were exposed more domestic violence than unemployers (%50.3) and with decrease of age of marriage, exposure to domestic violence (%66.3) increases. No significant relationship was found between violence knowledge scores of women and being exposed to domestic violence (p 0.05).
