Title Of Article :
Use of Protected Methionine in Ruminant Nutrition
Abstract :
Methionine (Met) is identified as one of the most limiting amino acid for the synthesis of milk and milk protein by dairy cows fed corn-based diets and its metabolism is closely linked to betaine and choline. Rumen-protected forms of Met fed to dairy cattle in early lactating stage and increased milk yield as well as milk protein and milk fat content. The objectives of this review were to evaluate the effects of rumen protected methionine on ruminants.
