Abstract :
Effects of agricultural pesticide dealers on farmers can not be denied. Therefore, in this study, it was aimed to determine the function of pesticide dealers in agricultural pest management, and also problems and deficiencies according to dealers on integrated pest managementin the research region. Antalya, Denizli, Konya, Karaman, Nigde and Isparta provinces were selected as a research area and it was also aimed to conduct a survey with all pesticide dealers in these provinces but due to several reasons data was collected from 145 pesticide dealers. According to results, agriculturalpesticide dealers have considerable role to inform the farmers about agricultural pest management. It is understood that level of consciousness among agricultural pesticide dealers on pesticide usage are high but level of cooperation with agricultural institutions is low. Interaction of agricultural pesticide dealers with other institution and organisation could be improved with educational programs like seminar and panels. According to survey results, 43.4% of agricultural pesticide dealers indicated that implementation level of IPM in apple production is low and 35.2% of them indicated that producers in the region who has applied pesticide management system are very sensitive for application period of prediction and early warning system. Fifty percent of pesticide dealers expressed that in order to generalize the IPM in apple farming is possible by training and awareness rising of producers.
