Abstract :
Turkey, lying in the sunny belt between 36° N and 42° N latitude, is located in a relatively advantageous geographical location for solar energy. Turkey s average annual total sunshine duration is calculated as 2737 h, and average total irradiation as 1527 kWh/m² a year. Isparta takes a lot of solar radiation because the Southern Anatolia Region has the highest solar energy potential in Turkey. Knowledge of local solar radiation is essential for planning of solar energy systems. Solar radiation calculations are necessary for estimate electricity of heat energy gain from solar energy. Solar radiations can be calculated for every location in the World. But global solar radiation share decreased because of many factors. The effect of atmospheric factors cannot be calculated precisely. For this reason solar energy estimation models is used in the calculations. The objectives of this study are to review the global solar radiation models available in the literature and develop the new model for Isparta province using meteorological data. The model using the mean sunrise hour angle and cloudiness rate gives more accurate results from other models.
