Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to explore the role of self efficacy on impression management tactics in the organizational context. The study was conducted with the data that collected from 248 bank workers with using the Impression Management Scale and the Self Efficacy Scale. The data were analyzed with using the Amos 16.0 statistical program. Results showed that there were negative relationships between self efficacy and supplication and ingratiation, and positive relationships between self efficacy and job chauvinism and self-promotion as the impression management tactics. Thus, it was revealed that people who have high self belief about what they can do with their sufficiency adopt more job chauvinism and self-promotion tactics; but avoid from supplication and ingratiation impression management tactics. Ultimately the important role of self efficacy as a personality characteristic emerged on impression management tactics.
