OPERATION OF LINEAR PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUE IN PRODUCTİON PLANNING PROBLEMS: IN AN APPAREL FACTORY
Abstract :
In this study, one of the technique called linear programming that is useful for solving capacity problems will be analysed and this technique will be put into practice in the apparel establishment, by emphasizing the importance of production planning in terms of firms. The mathematical modal concerning the problem of production planning by numerical data related to the limited resources ( raw material , machinery , labour ) of a confection business running on order and manufacturing products in very different qualities has been established by making use of the linear programming approach. When the mathematical modal established being analyzed by exerting the packet programme called WinQSB 1,0, it has been reached the conclusion that maximum profit being the target function may be achieved either by the fact that business should manufacture monotype products or that business should receive more orders . In the production planning analysis done by taking the current resources of the confection business into consideration , some sensitivity analyses have been performed so as to evaluate the effects of variation on the profit being the objective function in case of the fact that any changes related to those resources aforementioned occur. As a result of the sensitivity analyses related to each production cycle ( monthly, annual ) done as both theoretically and effectively , it is experienced that the contribution of each unit increase in the amount of raw material to the profit is 14TL .When it is taking into account that confection business manufactures on order , it has been reached the conclusion that that business may undertake more orders by taking advantage of the machinery and labour resources owned.
