Abstract :
In this study, it is aimed to investigate external environment factors’ impact on different sized companies. With this aim, the food industry is discussed and made a comparison between food companies which in the first 1000 company list according to 2009 data released by ISO and small and medium size businesses in food industry. As a result of the statistical analysis it is determined that politic, economic, sociocultural, demographic, technological and international external factors’ effect varies with company size, legal and natural external factors’ effect does not vary. In the competitive environment it is revealed that the threat of entry by potential competitors, the threat of substitute products, bargaining power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers varies with company size, rivalry among competitors does not vary.
