Abstract :
The word “innovation” implies novelty, modernity, change and improvement. It represents the new applications in various dimensions of the organization. In this study, application of innovation by small and medium sized organizations (SME’s) is evaluated. We tried to find out how general Organization features effect the application of innovation in SME’s. Five dimensions such as, organization size, Organization age, legal status, sector and share of R D (research and development ) department are taken as the general Organization features. Within this study, we tried to evaluated four different innovation types which are product innovation, process innovation, market innovation and organizational innovation along with the Organization features mentioned above. Study is conducted in SME’s in Balıkesir province. As a conclusion of this study, it is found that there is a positive relationship between organization size and market innovation. Again there is a positive relationship between organization size and organizational innovation. Also there is a positive relationship between organization age and product innovation. Similarly, there is a positive relationship between organization age and organizational innovation. On the other hand, there is a positive relationship between sector and organizational innovation. Lastly, share of R D has a positive relation with product innovation, organizational innovation and process innovation.
