EXAMINATION OF INTERNET USAGE INTENTIONS AND PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT LEVELS OF PRIMARY EDUCATION STUDENTS
Abstract :
The main aim of the study is to examine the primary school students’ internet use purposes and perceived social support level. The participants are 329 second grade students from one of the districts of Ankara. The data are gathered through Personal Information Form and Perceived Social Support Scale. It is found that there is no significant relationship between the internet use time of students for entertainment purposes and perceived social support level. However, there is a significant relationship between students’ internet use time for non-entertainment purposes and perceived social support. Although the perceived social support level and academic achievement do not have a significant relation between the internet use for entertainment and non-entertainment purposes, there is a significant relationship between gender and grades of students.
