THE BURNOUT LEVEL OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine the burnout level of school principals according to the aspects of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment and total burnout levels according to these areas. 204 principals and vice principals who worked in 2003-2004 in Düzce primary schools were surveyed in line with this aim. The research is a descriptive study. Quantitative approach is used in the study. The research is conducted on the data collected from Maslach Burnout Inventory. It has been found that principals experience low level burnout; they experience the highest level of burnout in emotional exhaustion while they experience the lowest level of burnout in depersonalization.
