Abstract :
With this study, the effect of the layered curriculum in Science Technology subject to theacademic achievement for 6th and 7th grade students in primary education was analyzed. Theresearch was involved 4 different groups of students from a private primary school inAfyonkarahisar, in the 2008–2009 academic year. Pretest – posttest control group model andaction research were used in this research. The pretest and posttest were used as ameasurement instruments. Also, as well as layered curriculum measurement instruments, theassessment contains with the received opinions of the students were developed. The resultsreceived from developed measurement instruments were subjected to statistical analysesindividually and the averages of the groups and level of significance were analyzed. Thesignificance level is assumed as .05. According to this research, layered curriculum is moresuccessful than conventional teaching methods.
