Abstract :
In Turkey the drivers driving commercial vehicles carrying passengers and commodities byvehicles in the roads open to the general public have to get professional competencecertificate to improve vocational and service quality within the framework of the EuropeanUnion adjustment law and according to land transportation on 10/07/2003. Professionalcompetence education in land transportation was firstly enforced in EU Countries in16/12/1976 and was made more comprehensive in 15/07/200. The aim of this article is tomake a comparison of professional competence education in land transportation in the EUCountries and in Turkey and by revealing the differences to come up with some solutionsabout Turkey’s copying with his defects on the subject.
