PROFICIENCY ABOUT VISUAL ARTS EDUCATION’STEACHER CANDIDATES’ ASSESSMENT- EVALUATIONTOOL AND APPROACHES IN ART EDUCATION
Abstract :
In this study, the purpose is to determine the proficiency perceptions about visual artseducation’s teacher candidates’ assessment and evaluation in art education, and assessmentand evaluation tool and approaches which are stipulated by renewed primary program. Thisresearch is carried out with 12 teacher candidates from Pamukkale University art educationdepartment. In this study which is implemented with qualitative research method, research’sdatas are gained with focus group interviews tecnique. The data was examined with the helpof content analysis technique. At the end of the study, it is stated that the teacher candidatesconsider visual arts course different than the other disciplines in terms of structure, this fieldhas specific assessment and evaluation methods, don’t perceive that assessment andevaluation course which is taken at university teacher training program is intended for theirown courses. Besides, the teacher candidates don’t regard themselves as sufficient aboutmeasurement and evaluation tools that are stipulated by new program.
