Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to find teachers’ level of perception about problems related to currenteducational system and its practices. As the study aims to describe data related to teachers’ level ofperception of problems, general survey method was used. In this manner, the population is represent3767 teachers currently working in Bayrampaşa and Esenler townships in Istanbul province and 360teachers were selected randomly for the sampling of the study. The data gathered through an EducationalProblems Perception Scale and the data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, gender,award conditions, and in-service training conditions by t-test and age, seniority, and educationalconditions by one way ANOVA. The findings show that teachers perceive the problems about currenteducational system and practices, physical condition, management, program, and personal rights“completely well” in all sub-categories and the whole scale in general. Therefore, arrangements shouldbe made in the physical conditions of schools, teachers’ personnel rights, administrators’ behaviors andthe curriculum itself.
