INTERNET USAGE OF PRIMARY EDUCATION SECONDSTAGE STUDENTS IN TERMS OF GRADES
Abstract :
The objective of the research is to determine the Internet usage of primary education secondstage students in terms of grades. The study group of this descriptive research consists of6th/7th/ 8th/ grades students attending a primary education state school in Ankara in the 2009-2010 academic year. Frequencies and percentages were utilised in the analyses of the dataincluded in the questionnaire developed by researchers and field specialists. As a result, thefollowing issues were found out respectively: 6th and 7th grades students use İnternet in orderto do research for their homework, 8th grade students benefit from İnternet for listening musicand watching video, their teachers do not recommend any website addresses to them, studentsstate that they can access various resources that they want via Internet, 7th and 8th gradesstudents state that Internet causes addiction, the parents of 8th grades students controlwebsites that the students access less than the others compared to other grades.
