Abstract :
This study has been conducted to help prospective class teachers with an interdisciplinary approach to gain experience in how to relate the achievements of primary school curriculum around a theme and how to perform a project. The students were asked to perform individual project studies under the main theme of “Power of Visual Culture”. The purpose of the study is to reveal the opinions of the prospective class teachers with regards to the project based on the theme of “Power of Visual Arts”. The study is qualified as a case study with qualitative research approach. The study was conducted with 87 students attending. The study took place in “Teaching Mathematics II” class for one class a week (50’) and full days at weekends for 14 weeks. With the purpose of assessing the project process the students have been given an open ended opinion form consisting of eight questions. The opinions expressed in the forms have been considered in accordance with qualitative research approach and subjected to a content analysis. When assessing the project process, it can be said that students have positive opinions towards the project. Students have said that during this process they experienced many difficulties related to time, content, design and interdisciplinary engagement due to different reasons.
