Abstract :
There are too few studies on the Armenian culture and particularly Armenian folklore in Turkey though Turks have shared a common fate with Armenian for quite long years throughout the history. The term Armina/Armenia is found in resourced written in the 5 th century B. C. And various epigraphs. The fack that Armenian have remained under sovereignth under powerful states since the old times had a significant influence on their language, beliefs, and their culture in general terms. Like all the other components of the culture, Armenian mythology was also strongly influenced by reigning powerfull cultures, in particular Persian Mitra culture, Babylon, Ancient Syria and Helen mythology upon conquest of Anatolia and Persian territories by Alexander the Great. As emphasized in this study in relation with cultural background of gods and goddesses, , festivals and ceremonies held by Armenians regarding such mythological characters are obvious to have been adoptep from a foreign culture despite such rituals among Armenians. Present study explains essential gods and goddesses in the Armenian culture as well as their origin culture and what they present.
