Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the status of word groups in Turkish grammatical term books, Turkish grammar books, Turkish teaching source books, and primary and secondary education curricula. To do this, I comparably examined the textbooks, curricula and source books and determine the terms related to word groups and their teaching. The findings of this study can be summarized as follow: 1-) We see differences in dictionaries and textbooks about word groups, 2-) Definitions and exemplification are confusing, 3-) Turkish teaching source books are inadequate, and 4-) Primary and secondary education curricula should be improved.
