Abstract :
Occupied by Russia on April 27th, 1920, Azerbaijan began to be Russified systematically trough political, economical and cultural policies in a very short time. ‚The practice of Latin alphabet‛ was the first stage of the policies over giving an identity to Russian of a general language used within the geography of all Soviets Unions and creating a new ‚Soviet nation‛ depending on an only language and only culture. The current study aimed at revealing how the process of the practice of Latin alphabet in Azerbaijan was evaluated, within the perspective of the journals of Yeni Kafkasya and Azeri Türk, by the anti- Soviet Azerbaijani immigrants living in Turkey.
